Temple Etiquette

The Sree Venkateswara Temple is a sacred space dedicated to the worship of Lord Venkateswara (Balaji) in accordance with the Sri Vaishnava Sampradayam, strictly following the Pancharatra Agama traditions. To maintain the sanctity and decorum of the temple environment, all devotees and visitors are requested to strictly observe the following guidelines: Reverence for the Deities and Sanctum Idols: Touching the idols in the sanctum (Moola Murthis) and the ceremonial deities (Utsava Murthis) anywhere within the temple premises is strictly prohibited. Offerings (Personal): Please hand your personal offerings directly to the priest or place them as directed in the designated baskets or receptacles located just outside the Sanctums. Kindly do not reach into the Sanctums at any time to leave your personal offerings inside. Pooja Time: Kindly do not interrupt the priest in the middle of a pooja or ritual to give your personal offerings. Dress Code and Personal Conduct Attire: Devotees are requested to dress modestly. Please refrain from wearing shorts, tank tops, leather apparel, and revealing outfits. Modest dress is essential to show reverence in the divine presence. Prasadam and Naivedyam Home Cooked Items: Home-cooked prasadam will not be offered as ‘naivedyam’ (food offering) to the deities. Allowed Offerings: Devotees are permitted to bring only whole fruits (not cut), dry fruits and nuts, oil, ghee, flowers, dhupam (agarbathi/incense), or milk for abhishekam as personal offerings to the deities. Bhajans and Sankeerthanam Adherence to Sampradayam: As per tradition (sampradayam), it is customary that only the Lord's name is sung in His presence. Therefore, all bhajans and songs performed in the main hall must be exclusively about Srimannarayana or His Avatars (such as Rama, Krishna, etc.), His consorts, Garuda, and Hanuman. Prohibited Usage: Please do not use the prefix or suffix of your personal guru(s) in the bhajans performed in the main hall. Compliance: For proper guidance and compliance regarding the permitted bhajans and performance guidelines, please contact the Religious Committee. Your cooperation in observing these guidelines helps ensure a spiritual and orderly experience for all visitors. Thank you for your support and reverence.
